TAKING SUCCESSFUL PHOTOGRAPHS OF YOUR PET Patience! Try to take photos at your pet's level. Place them on a table to put them on the same level as the camera. Use natural light, a bright overcast day is best. Try not to use a flash, it gives them red eye and washes out color. Get close up to the pet. Get good shots of head and face. Try to get pet's attention by using toys or squeakers. Try to take photos in their natural poses, something that show their individual personality if possible. In addition to photos, point out any special markings, which photo shows best color, or perhaps color of the eyes for example, that does not show up in photos. One of my clients pointed out I had overlooked extra toes on her Maine Coon Cat that had not been clear in the photos. This detail made a big difference in the final portrait! |
